It’s moments and people that truly define our lives. Food and wine are the great common denominator of all cultures, and the pop of a cork evokes a universal feeling. Our mission is to encourage you to take time to celebrate life’s little moments and special occasions.
Owned and managed entirely by women, we at Le Grand Courtâge take great pleasure in bringing people together to share food, wine and laughter. Santé!
Tawnya Falkner grew up in a 3-street town of 400 people surrounded by farms for miles, where her fondest memories are of backyard barbeques and Sunday dinners. That small town awoke a desire to see the world. Tawnya took the leap, gave up her career in San Francisco, and moved to Nuits-Saint-Georges in Burgundy, France to nurture her passion for food, wine, and travel. The more she traveled, the more she realized that the table is the universal place where memories are made and laughter shared.
She spent the next year and a half creating wines which embody the French spirit of joie de vivre (joy of life). Le Grand Courtâge, meaning ‘the great courtship’, is the culmination of our founder’s journey.
Le Grand Courtâge sparkling wines express the convergence of old and new world styles, as well as the French and Americans working together. Produced in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy, with grapes sourced from top French regions including Burgundy, Beaujolais, and the Loire Valley, the wines are crisp, light and refreshing.
Très Chic Rosé is a sip of Southern France, inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. Our dry Rosé is a blend of Grenache and Cinsault sourced from the Languedoc-Roussillon (Pays d’Oc), a region known for its rich combination of steep slopes, hilly peaks, and coastal vineyards dotted with wild herbs. The diverse, windswept soils and climate are ideal for this delicate yet exuberant wine.
With the help of a world-class winemaker, we produce award-winning French sparkling wines: Brut Rosé and Blanc de Blancs Brut. Carefully sourcing fruit from top regions allows the wines to achieve the desired dryness, yeast, and acidity of traditional French champagne, balanced with a hint of fruit and floral on the finish.
Continuing our mission to make affordable French wine available to American wine lovers, we launched Très Chic Rosé in 2017. A unique blend of cinsault and grenache, Très Chic is a perfect anytime sipper which embodies the South of France and its Mediterranean beaches, coastal vineyards, sunflowers and lavender fields. This vibrant wine is a balance of elegance, fun and the quintessential Provence style.
